What to Look for in a Compound Light Microscope

Compound light microscope started its history since the lenses were invented way back in 13th century. Today, we’re using the modern-day microscopy. In those days, scientist discovered that when seeing through a convex glass or piece of crystal, the objects came out to be bigger than its original size. Ever since then, these lenses where developed into cylinders or eyeglasses through which people would examine directly study things.

A discovery that merging of lenses within the tube is able to enlarge things even better was developed by Hans janssen and Zaccharias in the late 1500s. And, in early 1600s, Galileo, a well-known physician scientist, developed and utilized the recorded first telescope ever. While he was attempting to perfect the device of multiple lenses as first developed by Janssens, Galileo was able to create the telescope luckily.

The development and improvisation of the lenses with higher and higher curvatures was done by a Dutch merchant Anton van Leeuwenhoek. These led to greater and greater zoom. Afterwards, he was considered to be the first ever scientist to see tiny creatures, or organisms which are not visible to our naked eyes. Now, Anton is recognized as father of microscopy because of his invention. With the revolution of lenses invention, we are now experiencing the great things about compound light microscope.
